Kevin Hamilton

Lead Farmer &  Engager at McQuesten Urban Farm

Kevin Hamilton has been farming organically for 20 years. Currently working at McQuesten urban farm as lead farmer, he shares his passion and knowledge of organic growing within this community.

 

He has ridden his bicycle across Canada raising awareness about food and the environment over 15,000 kms, rode 4000 kms across Australia in 1999/2000 and in 2005 he rode 22,000 kms again by bicycle visiting farms from Portugal to Vietnam to learn all he could about farming without the aid of petrochemicals.

 

He was also the youngest ever recipient of the Hamilton Environmentalist of the Year. He is an avid cyclist, environmentalist and political agitator.

Amy Bonin

Farm Team Lead, Engager & Administrator at McQuesten Urban Farm

Amy Bonin has been with McQuesten Urban Farm for almost 8 years. She is passionate about growing food, food justice & security, cooking and working with her community to improve the McQuesten neighbourhood. With a background in journalism and graphic design, Amy has combined these skills with farming to help the project grow online and in the fields.

Rachel Mellen

Maintenance Manager, Farm Hand & Engager at McQuesten Urban Farm

Rachel originally came to the farm as a volunteer in 2019. Rachel enjoys researching and learning about our crops and interacting with our community members and the local wildlife. She is looking forward to continue to learn more about farming and continuing to contribute to the community.

Pat Reid

Pioneer of farm and longtime volunteer and neighbour.

Pat Reid is a McQuesten neighbour and long time volunteer. at McQuesten Urban Farm and the McQuesten Community Planning Team. Pat alongside other with other McQuesten residents dreamt up this community farm and brought it to life with the help of the City Of Hamilton and our community partners.
